God's best, God's will

What is it - God's best? What is God's perfect will and why is it not clearer? And when people say 'God will reward your faithfulness', will that be on this earth and Heaven or just in Heaven? It would be kind of nice to have some reward on earth. Also, does he just give us what we need when He rewards us? Is it on top of all the other blessings like food, shelter, clothing, or is that it? Don't get me wrong, that's more than enough, but is that all?

Anyway... If you could give me your opinion, that would be good.

I dunno the answer to that...but to me i would think that God's reward is more of Himself, or at least more knowledge of Him and Reality and closeness with Him, whatever the outward circumstances. That's just my rambling thoughts, as God does bless materially too - but sometimes we don't have the right attitude, etc to be able to handle things so that they are actually best for us - does that make any sense? I'm also thinking of the passage in Hebrews about those whom the world was not worthy of, that they never really thought of the world or the things of the world as being home, or possessing them in that way the world seeks to...but their hearts were fixed on the city that was yet to come. Also heard something interesting the other day about Abraham and Lot, that although Abraham continued to dwell in a tent, never I guess in his heart having 'ownership' of these things in a worldly way, Lot had his house in Sodom. I don't know if all that makes sense the way it does in my ickle brain, but when we try to find satisfaction in things or blessings in and of themselves, we will likely still have a gnawing sense of emptiness lurking behind that, or else wondering if there is more to it, it is only in the freedom of not needing to 'possess' (by that i don't mean 'have'), that we can have the satisfaction of receiving the gifts our Heavenly Father has for us. I hope that makes a teeny bit of sense, otherwise, hope you didn't mind my rambles!!x

A blessing from God
is something that brings us closer to God, closer to his mind to his heart to his will to his purpose.
It's not something we can fully undrstand that for us to share in the suffering of Christ is the Father's way of blessing and honouring us.
I've often thought when we look back on our lives our greatest blessings will have been our times of greatest burden.
